What I’ve learned
- Studying WordPress (the software used to build the site) from a 2010 handbook (because it was free) taught me a lot about…the evolution of technology…
- Assuming that the renowned software is perfect and will run smoothly if I follow the instructions… gave me an understanding of where the high paychecks of web developers actually come from…
- Focusing on analytics while having a small group of visitors made me realize how my blog is similar to… a peep show. My poetry is a stripper and the audience doesn’t want to be seen… Also, there is this great saying: lies, bigger lies, statistics.
- Assuming that having an original idea (multilingual poetry) will make me instantly successful made me think about…the purpose of mankind on planet Earth…
What I’m happy about
- Writing in 3 languages
- Keeping the site healthy and growing at a tortoise pace instead of trying to keep up with the cool kids and crashing every 2 days.
- Researching before spending money (or selling my soul to the devil)
Thank You
- For the ongoing support, inspiration and space to breathe.
- For the volunteer work of the WordPress community. “Love in the Times of Cholera” is not as well written as the documentation for the WordPress tools…
